Protection Mantra : Kali Durge Namo Nama

Thanks to Grace, there are many protection mantras to provide protection from negative energies of different types. My favorite is Kali Durge Namo Nama, which invokes Divine Mother Kali and Durga to defeat dark forces of any type. It is short and easy to pronounce and therefore easy to remember.

Kali and Durga are the same energy, they are both Warrioress energy which defends the seeker from obstructing forces. They are divine Protectors... the beneficent, Compassionate defenders of the Light who vanquish evil within us and around us. Utilizing this mantra amplifies the positive power in your Life and moves you towards your Greatest Potential.

Kali is considered to be the General that heads all the Legions of Light. She consumes all ignorance, arrogance and attachments, therefore She ends our cycle of death and re-birth by guiding us to Enlightenment.

Kali, Durge and the Violet Flame of Transformation

Kali and Durge are known as Relievers of Suffering and are associated with the Violet Flame of Transmutation. They are the transforming flame, the Violet Light that purifies the initiate and therefore clears their path of negative karmas and samskaras (psychic impressions).

In my book, “The Shamanic Art of Self Healing, Part 1”. one of the chapters is dedicated to The Violet Light. There I wrote, “Kali removes all that you have outgrown... dissolving whatever is holding you back from experiencing your divine nature. Durga brings in the Light Forces and opens the way for your Positive Self to emerge and stand strong every step of the way. They are both Warrior forms of Divine Mother and they represent the Divine Victory. No negative energy stands a chance against the Warrior Goddess of Light!”

In my book, “The Impeccable Warrior of Light”, I recommend utilizing this mantra along with the Violet Light to heal yourself and others. It is a power-full combination for transforming any type of negative energy and excellent for dissolving dark forces in any space.

With healing work, whether you are having healing work done for you or doing healing work of any type on others, the Angelic Kali version of this mantra is a perfectly soothing way to protect your self and the space.

Kali and Durge protect the Light within us and the Light throughout the Universe. They vanquish all darkness and the more you repeat this mantra, the faster you will see the results of Their protection in your Life.

Kali Durge Namo Nama Mantra CD

This mantra calls forth Kali and Durge and in doing so, you are calling forth the Warrior Protectress Goddess to protect all Goodness in you, in your path…in the space around you and wherever you mentally direct it to. I have used it for years and it was the first protection mantra we recorded, years ago. You will find this mantra in our Kali Durge Namo Nama Mantra cd.

In the cd, track 1, “Angelic Kali” is a serene version of the mantra to support you in repeating the mantra during your work activities and to help you glide into bliss-full meditations during your meditation sessions.

We play this mantra during the Shamanic Healing Circles and during some of the sacred Ceremonies I perform. We combine chanting of the mantra with using the Shaman’s Ayayote Rattle to quickly dissolve obstacles. Combining the mantra with the Ayayote rattle sound instantly creates a shift in frequency, resulting in greater Strength, Determination, Clarity, Tranquility and self Love.  

Often when a person goes through a long string of psychic attacks or heavy challenges, they get tired. Calling in Kali and Durge can infuse you with the Goddesses’ zest for battle. Kali and Durga are the ultimate martial artists and they relish the battles! They are not afraid of anything or anyone because They know They will All Ways be triumphant. They are the eternal victors and Their energy will re-charge your batteries, filling you with renewed dedication to your spiritual practices.

The Kali Durge vibration within the mantra will refresh your enthusiasm, fanning the flame of Faith in yourself, your goals, the Spiritual Laws of the Universe and your Divine Protectors. 

The Kali Durge Namo Nama Mantra helps you experience a new reality. The more you repeat it, the more it becomes a part of you and this is how it must be with any protection mantra that you implement. You should immerse yourself in it, so you can connect solidly with the energy within it.

Children Love Angelic Kali Mantra...

Around the world, we have had constant reports from parents that their children become full of courage upon hearing the Angelic Kali track and often, the children ask for this mantra to be played whenever the adults forget to protect the space with it. I remember one woman who shared that when she went to play the CD she discovered it was missing and later heard it playing in her young daughter’s room. She asked her daughter why she had taken it and the young girl replied, “I have an important exam tomorrow and I need to sleep Peace-fully tonight! I do not want to be bothered by bad spirits tonight! Whenever I hear this mantra, I feel protected and sleep very well!”

Another child would ask his parents to play the CD the moment they got into the car. If his parents forgot to play it and turned on the radio instead, he would say, “Can we please play the Hawaiian Kali Durge cd?” He felt the “Angelic Kali” track sounded Hawaiian, so he gave it that name.  Another couple shared that since their son heard this CD, he has not stopped chanting it. Whenever they saw him, he would either be singing the mantra or humming the tune from Angelic Kali.    

Transform Habits and Nagative Programming

If you pay attention to the way your mind constantly attempts to drag you into negative thought patterns, you will see how strong sinister forces are. It is a constant battle to remain positive! However by making it a steady practice to repeat a protection mantra such as Kali Durge Namo Nama, you will have a new focus with which to anchor the mind in positivity.

Make it a practice to be aware of your thoughts and when you catch your mind entertaining fear-full, destructive thoughts, immediately drop any negative thought. Just cut it short... stop any limited thoughts and immediately revert to repetition of your mantra.

Saturate the Atmosphere with this Holy Vibration

Mantras create a vibration and the specific vibration you are uttering travels to your entire body, into the mind and into the atmosphere. So whatever we concentrate on, we are endorsing! Whatever you think about, you are installing in your mind, body, spirit and area around you. By repeating this mantra, especially with a sweet rhythm, you are filling up the space within you and around you with the power of Triumphant Light.

In my new book series, “The Shamanic Art of Self Healing” I have written various chapters where I stress the importance of filling the space around you consciously. By repeating a protection mantra such as Kali Durge Namo Nama, you can transform the area you live in and any area you travel to.

While in Florida, I once lived in downtown Miami and as is my practice, I played mantras such as Kali Durge Namo Nama twenty-four hours a day. One day, I met my neighbors for the first time and they told me they had begun to sit outside my window, so they could hear the beauty-full music I played on the cd player. They said the music filled them with Peace and told me, “Please do not ever leave here. Before you arrived, we were afraid to come out at night. The neighborhood was a terrible place of violence and we did not dare come out because of all the dangerous types of people that wandered the streets! Since you have been here, we have noticed a huge change in the energy and we feel safe to sit outside now. We feel your presence protecting and blessing the area! We do not want you to ever leave this place!”

This is how it should be with all of us... we can all be protectors of a space. You become such a protector and transformer when you become ONE with a mantra such as Kali Durge Namo Nama.

Kali is sometimes portrayed as dark black, signifying the fathomless depth of the Universe. Her entire body is also often shown as radiant electric blue or soft pastel blue.  Regardless of the color attributed to Her, innumerable Poet Saints lovingly sing to Her as the Great Liberator that granted them Illumination. 

One of India’s great Saints, Shree Ramakrishna considered himself a humble instrument of Kali. He would often say that when you see the ocean from afar it can look dark or blue, however, when you venture into the waters, you see that the ocean is actually totally clear and actually has no color. So people portray Her as they experience Her. I experience Her as a Pure Light that flashes before me.

As you repeat Her mantra, you will come to know Her beneficent nature and to love Her. By repeating Kali Durge Namo Nama, you become one with Kali and Durga. You become one with the vibration of Triumphant Light. So I encourage you, chant with the cd and experience Her All Light form and YOUR All Light form!
